Russell Westbrook, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s nuclear point guard ranks first in the NBA in: points per game, PER, PIE, assist percentage, usage percentage, box plus/minus, offensive box plus/minus and VORP.

Westbrook is the first guard 6-foot-3 or shorter to average 10 boards a game in NBA history. He’s one of only three players in the top 10 in offensive and defensive win shares. He’s a monster in the clutch. He’s the new triple-double record holder. He has three game-winners since January after just four in his first eight seasons. He has the opposing defenses unbridled attention every second he’s on the court throughout all of this.

He’s the MVP.

Stop overthinking it.

Disclaimer: I didn’t pore over hours of film and stats.
