I Never Write Poetry

I never write poetry,

It writes me:

A moment,

A dream,

Streaming in Eternity,

Falls lightly,

Breathes slightly,

As I smile,

Seeing clearly,

A wisp laughing:

Here and gone,

Recorded & forgotten,

Because…

I am a new me:

A verse smiling,

Hoping for discovery;

Wondering out loud,

Happy for a smile:

A nod of agreement,

A gasp of comprehension,

A thrill of illegal contact…

I never write poetry:

It…writes…me.
