Words & Works

He said, “Word,”

She said, “Work,”

Smiling at the similarity,

Not disagreement,

But opportunity,

A timeline,

Awareness weaving,

Life’s Tapestry,

Words and works,

Sometimes swords…

Each heart,

Each hand,

Contributing,

Beauty or horror.

By our efforts,

Nows become Past,

Peace or Pain,

Persisting,

Preserved,

For every Witness.

Our dreams shape Tomorrow,

Our choices,

Catalysts of Consequence,

A harvest we must reap.

Be careful as you weave,

A destiny for us all.

Words, Works, Swords…

Comment:

After I posted this a holistic friend wrote me about another word, also similar — sward. It means a grassy field for grazing, and also, the top layer of soil. So Life could go full circle with:

Word, Sward, Work, Words, Works, Swords, Swards.

Life rises and falls, always returning to the soil, which strips away the useless and returns the energy to green things which rise, waving under new sunrises. That thought made me smile.
