A Look at the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Program

Professor of pediatrics Dr. Ramesh Sachdeva teaches at the Medical College of Wisconsin and provides clinical instruction to medical students, fellows, and residents. Dr. Ramesh Sachdeva’s medical students may select from a variety of medical degree and fellowship programs, such as the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) Fellowship.

Established in 1985 and accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the program provides board-certified and broad-eligible pediatricians with the necessary training to become certified in a subspecialty by the American Board of Pediatrics. Fellows prepare for certification over the course of three years, during which time they receive the opportunity to develop as teachers and further their understanding of basic and clinical research. In addition, fellows who require additional time to complete advanced degrees or continuing research projects may partake in an optional fourth year.

The Medical College of Wisconsin possesses the ability to fully fund four fellowship positions per year and participates in the National Resident Fellowship Matching Program. Furthermore, the PCCM Fellowship Program maintains compliance with restricted duty hour requirements set forth by the ACGME.
