Camel Specialist ~ Dr Abdul Raziq Kakar
As a first write up, I would like to tell about my background.
With a Background of semi-pastoral agrarian family. I’am blessed with folk knowledge of Eco-friendly and green livestock agriculture. Such Livestock Agriculture ensures food and livelihood in marginalized regions of the world. My unique background prompted me to avail modern education and skills in animal agriculture. I joined University of Agriculture Faisalabad (the leading institute in the region) for the achievement of my goal and secured education up to doctorate level.
With the blend of modern education and my traditional knowledge background, I composed a new module of native breeds’ characterization, documentation and reporting. To visualize unique role of native breeds and breeders, concepts of BCP and LKR was introduced with the help of other international colleagues and organizations. Such concepts became powerful tools for the communities, protecting their rights and share in policy making.
