Emergent Creativity that through us flows in the touch of rust

Rust

rust shows us creation through decay — as a thrilling life-process

THE TOUCH OF RUST

Rust here in the photo above on a seaside pier sensually marks the effect of the elements on a human construction. By sensual I mean you just have to lightly brush your fingers over an artefact that is presenting new forms.

Rust first got registered in my consciousness through living close to the Angel of the North a monumental sculpture by one of the UK’ preeminent artist Sir Antony Gormley;

Don’t go to the north of England without visiting the Angel of the North!

The Angel of the North Was commissioned by Gateshead Council and they have produced a ‘teachers pack’ — see HERE;

THE POINT OF THIS ARTICLE: is to celebrate

To celebrate both Antony Gormley’s magnificent and monumental sculpture but also to celebrate rusting as a process of creativity which I hope my photograph captures.

Rusting is emergent creativity not decay!
