A little more about who I am
Dr. Zoe Wimshurst is an educator, researcher and clinician, with a BSc Psychology and PhD in Psychology from the University of Surrey. She has taught at St John’s School, Leatherhead and was the Sports Science Officer at The University of Chichester, before taking up her current position as a Lecturer in Psychology at Southampton Solent University where she lectures in subjects such as Biopsychology, Applied Cognitive Psychology and Psychological Inquiry.
In 2010, Dr. Wimshurst formed her own company, Performance Vision Ltd, to offer vision coaching to elite athletes, such as GB Hockey, Harlequins RFC and British Shooting. She was also a key member of the University of Chichester team that put Portugal and Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, through his paces for a Sky Sports documentary. Dr. Wimshurst was responsible for testing his vision and decision making skills, as you can see in the clip below.
Dr. Wimshurst’s interest in sport began when she started playing hockey aged just three. She went on to represent England at junior international level and still plays hockey for her local club team whilst also taking a keen interest in a range of other sports.
