Good post except that the last sentence was left out: so there is absolutely no way to change the system from within the system.

The only way for that to happen is through extremely rapid technological disruption and innovation. It is only a question of when and how that will happen. When it does, there is a window of opportunity to hack the system into something completely new. Whether that turns out good or bad remains to be seen.
