I respectfully disagree about the Pressfield book, though I’m aware that it has a sort of cult status. For me it was too vague, abstract and bordered on the spiritual. I read somewhere that it has a particular appeal to religious people. Perhaps they can buy into the abstractions better than I could.

Much depends on what is holding you back as a writer. For some of us, the impediment is not a lack of inspiration or self-confidence, but simple self-discipline to get the toil done. “The War of Art” isn’t an answer to that.
