I recently read that grass-fed beef leads to increased methane emissions from cattle due to their diet. In addition, pastures used for grass fed cattle take up more space than other methods, raising the question of is large-scale pasture raised livestock really that sustainable? I’m sure it’s better than packing cattle into as small of spaces as possible & feeding them food from monocropped fields, but how much better can it really be?
