‘The house I have taken,’ said Mr. Pickwick, ‘is at Dulwich. It has a large garden, and is situated in one of the most pleasant spots near London.’
The Pickwick Papers, Charles Dickens 1836
From the moment I arrived in Dulwich nearly 15 years ago, I knew I’d found my home.
The area is not only beautiful, with its old-fashioned charm, green spaces and housing stock, but is also richly diverse. There really is something for everyone.
From the amazing local talent, the history, the schools, the arts festival, the newly revamped Velodrome, Dulwich Picture Gallery and, of course, the football team (!), we have so much to celebrate and be proud of.
So, over the next few months, Dulwich Daily will be sharing all the things we love about Dulwich, talking to local residents, showcasing some of our wonderful local businesses and sharing community news and upcoming events.
We’d love to hear from you too. Tell us what you love about living, working and playing in Dulwich.
We want to hear about meals you’ve enjoyed, shops you’ve discovered and places you’ve visited.
Do you have a favourite local restaurant or cafe? Where’s the place to go for quality fresh meat or fish? Where’s the best pub to get a Sunday lunch, a local craft beer or to catch the sun?
Do you run a business and are interested in being featured, or perhaps you have an event to promote? Let us know.
We’d also love to hear about the local unsung heroes, be they individuals or businesses who really deserve some thanks for their contribution to our community.
If you want to explore Dulwich, find out more about the brilliant community of local independent businesses, or if you’re looking for things to do at the weekends or with your family in the area, then follow our pages and enjoy.
Thanks for visiting.
