A new Dunzo App — Built for you, by you!

Back in 2014, when we started out, our promise was simple — tell us what you need, and we’ll find a way to deliver it to you. As we grew from one small area in Bangalore, to covering most of the city to now being in 6 cities and counting, we’ve grown up. The product got more complicated as we added more options and even more categories, our support was not able to ramp up as quickly and our Partners spent more time trying to understand the order before making the purchase. We knew it was time for a change.

3 months ago, we introduced a new brand — gone was the familiar yellow to make way for the vibrant green we have adopted. Today is the next step in our growing up. Over the last few months, we at Dunzo have been working hard to reimagine, re-engineer and redesign the Dunzo app that has been your constant for so many years.

Our first step was to hear from you! Our users who have been with us for so long through the great and not so great — we wanted to know what you loved, what you tolerated and what you absolutely hated. We heard a lot, from the multiple users we spoke to across the cities Dunzo runs in, as well as the feedback so many of you have written to us over the last few months And, we definitely heard you loud and clear!

Our promise has always been to give you back more time in your lives to do the things you love. Our old app took longer to navigate, and instead of Tap Tap order, it was more like Tap, Tap, Tap, Tap, Tap…. Order.

That starts to change from today! Our brand new app is faster, easier and a whole lot better to navigate, whether you’ve been a long time user or you just downloaded the app. Simplicity is the key! Oh also, for those magical, unusual orders that you rely on Dunzo for, we still do this. Tap ‘Anything else’ and your wish shall still be fulfilled!

Gone are multiple screens that were confusing, and please welcome our brand new home screen where you have all the information in one page — from your current orders running, to different categories, to what’s trending near you and of course our banners which gets you great deals all week long!

As we scaled, the one thing users told us is they wanted more control on how they run their orders — from clear ETAs to be able to chat and track their Partner and to be able to confirm their orders on their own, without any intervention from Dunzo’s side and why not?

The new Dunzo App, gives you all that and more;

  • Accurate Estimated Time of Delivery: With the new design, you have more predictability built into the app, giving you a clear estimated time of when your order will reach you.
  • Quicker checkout: We know you use our app to save time, having you write in your order letter by letter, wasn’t that fast was it? Our aim is to have all our stores cataloged, so you know where you can buy what, saving you time along the way. Not only is this is an easier experience for you, our user — but this saves immense time for your Partner. Gone are the days, where Partners have to hunt around for that precious Avocado in season, now they know exactly which store to go to and what they need to buy!
  • Faster Delivery Times: Partners know exactly what you want, and from where you want it. Partners now have all the information they need when you input your details through our cataloged flow. This not only reduces calls or clarifications from your end to your Partner, but also greatly reduces friction at the store for the Partner, having them make the purchase faster than before, providing faster ETAs.

I don’t see the update on my phone, help.

If you don’t see the update yet, don’t worry. We’re rolling this out in a phased manner and you’ll soon be able to download the brand new app!

I want to input my order, and don’t want to go through the cataloged flow

If you can’t find your item in the catalog, you can still go through the ‘Anything else’ category. However, in order to ensure a seamless end-to-end experience, we’d urge you to use the catalog feature, and experience Dunzo the way we envision it to be. It’s as easy as One, Two, Dun!

I don’t want to pay until I receive my order. Why can’t I pay after?

With our new catalogue flow, you’ll always know what the item costs beforehand — with no surprises. While we were testing out paying upfront for orders that we had the cost details in, we found it significantly reduced ETAs leading to a faster delivery time. Paying upfront also removes any friction between the Partner, the Store, and you, the user. It allows for your Partner to purchase the item faster, leading to lesser time spent at the store, and more time spent on the road to get your order delivered to you as fast as possible.
