I honestly can’t figure out how people like Sarah & Michelle here can argue positions when they’re clueless to the actual facts. First of all, gun ownership in America, by law abiding citizens, is a RIGHT, not a privilege like driving or home ownership. Second, if you 2 bothered to learn what an AR-15 is, you will find they are NOT military weapons. The military versions are called M4's or M16’s and the difference is they are fully automatic. ALL rifles are semi-automatic, except if they have a bolt action. Here is the difference. Semi-automatic weapons, like AR-15’s, are one shot per trigger pull. MILITARY weapons like M4’s are automatic, which means you pull the trigger, the magazine empties. I would honestly recommend that both of you actually go through the process of buying a gun. You don’t need to actually buy a gun, but go through the process it takes for law abiding Americans to buy one. Take the NRA required safety course or take the hunting course. Fill out the paperwork at your police department once you’ve got your safety cert. Go to a gun store or gun show after you receive your firearm license, and see what happens next. Then you can argue for more or less gun control. Until then, it’s time to recognize that your opinions are narrow minded and short sided. On top of that, this argument is dividing and destroying America from within. The people with the guns will always win, that’s just common sense.
