It could also use more projects like Lyricist’s Lounge or Jazzamatazz…Fresh material built by the cooperation and collaboration of folks who were not bothered with the amount of their paycheck, but instead strove for the opposite and pushed the genre deeper into the underground where it was born and belongs. Sway & Tec and Rawkus Records also come to mind. In that wonderful heyday, we could not wait to see who would appear on the next project and stay on the level of Bahamadia, Diamond D, Black Star, and the like….Stunts Blunts and Hip Hop….
