Walking For Weight Loss?

It is not unusual for modern people to deal with obesity or to have few extra pounds. Many of them are aware of this problem and they know how bad it can affect their overall health. Yet, they decide to ignore this problem because they lack time or simply don’t find training or most of the sports activities attractive and exciting. The good news is that you don’t have to sign up for gym classes or buy a home workout DVD in order to start losing weight. Many people can confirm that regular walking can be quite helpful too. Of course, it is a well-known fact that walking is good for your health especially for your cardiovascular health, but did you know that walking can help you get rid of those stubborn extra pounds in a relatively fast manner?

Walking is completely free and there is no outcome that is not positive once you start practicing this
routine. However, if you want to feel the effects, you will need to implement this activity to your lifestyle in the right way. You should feel free to choose when you want to walk and it is good to point out that this weight loss method is so natural and easy that it won’t even look like a weight loss plan. You can drop a significant amount of weight without visiting a fitness center, without buying additional equipment and without following some special diet.

The vast majority of people agree that doing around 10,000 steps per day guarantees positive effects to your health — it decreases the chances of developing heart disease, stabilizes blood pressure and protects us from cancer. 10,000 steps are equal to one hour of fast paced walking or about 10 miles. Of course, you don’t have to walk these miles at once. You can separate them into three parts. One hour of walking can burn up to 500 calories! On top of that, this activity boosts the metabolism which means that you will burn fat and calories even when you are not walking. In other words, you will be able to drop up to 10 pounds in three months without following any diet. But, how exactly can we incorporate walking in our lives?

If you have free time you can walk whenever you want, but if you are going to work and you have work to do at home, then you must make a plan. For instance, you can park 15 minutes away from work. You can walk for additional 20 minutes during your break. You can walk for 15 minutes while you are getting back to your car. Finally, you can walk for 10–15 minutes in the evening. That’s total of 60 minutes that won’t affect your life and the time you have in any way. When it comes to the pace, it is the best idea to walk slowly in the first five minutes and increase the pace gradually. In order to improve the effects don’t forget to move your arms when you are walking and walk on hills if possible.
