1 simple trick to improve confidence
Lately I have started following an Old school S&C coach by the name of Vern Gambetta who has a pretty big name for himself in the industry and have been loving his pearls of wisdom
Yesterday he put into words something I have thought for a long long time
Thorough preparation breeds complete confidence. Work smart & reap the benefits.
You hear so many debates about why people don't have confidence when it comes to certain things and so much of it boils down to being properly prepared for that situation
If it's getting in shape then having the confidence to know you are doing the right stuff to get there
If it's passing an exam then knowing you have studied the right topics and know them enough to pass
Or in sport the confidence a team/ or athlete gets from knowing their coach has covered every angle and has them ready for battle.
The way to build confidence is to either get your ass educated or work with some who is educated and work smartly towards your goals!!
and then a similar line to bring things on another bit
It is not the hours of training or the miles accumulated, it is what you put into those hours & miles that makes the difference. Anyone can work, but to work with a purpose is what matters.
I feel like printing this off and sticking it on the foreheads of a few coaches I know!
Training for training sake consumes maybe 80% of the training time out there. No to little thought put into it and just a mish mash of nonsense drivel put together
I was just thinking the other day of a sports team I know and how many training hours they have accumulated over the past 5 years and what those hours we're spent on and it is a bloody scary thought
and hugely depressing!
Training should always have a focus and a real purpose and thought put into the session.
Anyhoo, we can only control what we can control so on that note..
I just want to give a bit of a mention towards what classes will be quietest etc next week for our big Dutchys Fitness 2.0 launch
All the yummy mummys will be looking at the 9:30 class so if it makes no odds to you then try to make the 10:30 class
The one class that I can't imagine be overly full is the 4:00 class so if you can make that then please do. Even just 5 to 10 in that class we will be delighted as taking that 5 or 10 away from the 5:00 class will really take the pressure off
On Saturday morning's I think 11 is a bit late so 9:30 and 10:30 should be a better balance here and not really sure how that is going to go yet
All the early risers will be in for 9:30 and if ya fancy a bit of a ly in then 10:30 should suit well so shall see how that pans out
In the Enniskillen facility the quietest class is probably 7 in the evening so if you want a quiet class then that is the one to hit!
And most of all please be patient folks as it will take a week or 2 to find it's groove and the trainers now have extra classes and we have a lot of new people starting and the regulars are getting use to new class times so it will take a few weeks for everyone to just find their groove
But when we all do we will be flying from there
Any questions then be sure to just let me know and in case there is any confusion here is the timetables to start THIS coming Monday the 19th
