The Perfection Myth

Anyhoo this week I want to cover the "Perfection Myth"

Any time you ask someone how their diet is going the answer is usually "Could be better"

Just be really clear about this!!

NO ONE'S DIET IS PERFECT

and no one really knows what a "Perfect Diet" is as the brightest minds in Fitness/ Nutrition will debate how mine, and your, diet should be!

People think they are eating extremely healthy with Organic foods and Gluten free breads. There is actually a lot of debate on Organic foods and are they really much better.

As for Gluten, if you don't have a Gluten Intolerance why are you going Gluten Free?? All breads should be kept to a minimum and that's it!

The more I study it the more I get our clients to follow 80- 90% good foods. If they really want to get Abs popping then 90- 95%.

I used to think I should be always seen to be eating good food as it would be wrong to be eating those "DEADLY" processed foods.

Since eating 80% right and having the odd desert etc I am much stronger, have good energy levels and am as lean as I have ever been! So I would rather people see that you can actually eat the odd desert and still be in good shape!

Someone who's many book's I have read and one of the sharpest business minds out there, Dan Kenedy, talks about...

"Good Enough is Good Enough"

There is never a perfect time to do anything in business. You plan accordingly, then bull in with both feet and learn as you go, simple as that!!

At the minute my sleep is letting me down as I'm waking up early thinking of all I have to do that day, home late enough from Classes/ Football. By the time I reply to some messages and unwind I do be well past me bed time. It sure isn't "Perfect" but it's "good enough"

As the saying goes "Success comes in Chaos" so I just need to get on with it and when things settle down my structure will come together again.

Unfortunately this is where people FAIL

We follow the pure rubbish people put up on Facebook and put so much pressure on ourselves to have the perfect diet, the perfect business, the perfect family life etc that we beat ourselves up when we don't have it!!

I have learnt this one the hard way as well. Following many Fitness Business owners on FB you can think that they have the perfect business and doing everything right for both themselves and their clients.

Then you do some courses and/ or hear the true story and you find out they have their problems with the business just like everyone else.

This isn't an excuse for half assing around either but a bit of cop on goes a long way.

So I'm telling you to CHILL THE F**K OUT and enjoy the ride :)
