Thank you for the article Bernadette Meehan. I completely agree with everything written in this article. Mainly with the fact of having to be active in our communities. Even if we have a small role.
For example, I’m looking for a policy change at a local school. A young teenager, who was part of my family in-law had committed suicide. She posted and had many things going on, how she was bisexual and had been heavily bullied at her school. When I looked at the student handbook I realized it wasn’t even in handbook under the discrimination policy; No mention of sexual orientation. I know it’s something small, but I’m going to see how far it goes, argue for it with facts and if it can be added to the handbook.
Even if it can help one person, a small victory can be just as strong.
