People’s lives only make sense in retrospect to them and anyone else if they give certain values to all the random crap that happened to them at different times. It’s not something people do consciously, it tends to just be a natural reaction, as we attempt to prove to ourselves that the random crap had a point.

I find this point very comforting especially because people tend to panic and feel insecure whenever they feel that they are not following a set path at all times. Just because you don’t know where you’re going or why doesn’t mean you won’t get somewhere you want to be. Life is about making the best decision for oneself with the information that is currently available. It’s impossible to know it all in advance – and wouldn’t that be boring anyways?
