The Harbinger Pt 3
“Its been 3 weeks since the Harbinger expedition has gone silent. After arriving into orbit around Titan, and successfully landing on its surface, we all marveled at the first images of this alien body and these human explorers so far from home. However, those would be the last communications we would receive from deep space. A week ago, after official news from Lucian Industries of broken communications between the crew and earth, we were contacted by a whistle blower from inside the mission control team. Going by the handle, TheRabbitHole, they claimed to be a communications specialist, and that they had information regarding what happened to the exploration team. They told us that the Harbinger Expedition was never meant to explore deep space for scientific purposes, and that the project was funded by Aloys Rothstein Eccentric billionaire, and heir of the infamous Rothstein banking family. We have received shocking photos from this whistle blower that reveal what the explorers on Titan may have really found. Unfortunately, our last communications with TheRabbitHole were over a week ago, and we are uncertain of their whereabouts, but for the first time tonight we will review our correspondence and let you be the judge”
Seven years earlier, the Harbinger Platform, in transit towards Saturn, exiting earth’s orbit. An uplink of Simeon Ornstein, CEO of Lucian Industries and the “Brain child” of the Harbinger Expedition comes online. The astronaut crew huddles around to hear his message.
“Hello Everyone, and congratulations on a successful launch. I am sure you all will sleep well over the coming years, and upon awakening you will make history. However, it will not be for the reasons you’ve been told throughout your training.
The exploration of the outer Solar System has much value for the scientific community, but there is a larger prize at stake! The Rothstein Estate has been the primary benefactor of the Harbinger Expedition. The reason for this is clear, as they brought the concept to Lucian Industries, contrary to what many believe. This is because the Rothstein family line dates back many thousands of years. While what I say may seem unbelievable to you, it is true.
The Rothstein family owns documents, and have uncovered ancient sites, which reveal that a massive global civilization known as Atlantis, did exist on Earth. Not only was this ancient empire global, but it stretched far into space. The exploration documents, and data the Rothstein estate has acquired over their explorations, have been brought on board by your fellow crew member Aloys, and you all will be able to review them to confirm my statements.
We believe that the Atlanteans did not merely venture out into the solar system, but had many colonies deep within our Milky Way galaxy, and the use of something they called an “Aetheric Causeway” was how they achieved this feat. The Rothstein Estate believes that all “Conduits” , which grant access to this causeway, have been destroyed on Earth during the cataclysm which wiped out Atlantis. Explorations to solar bodies nearer to earth have revealed nothing. However, ancient star maps discovered in Atlantean ruins on Earth, reveal that Saturn held massive temple complexes dedicated to the creation of Atlantean star temples, the star ships of their age, and also a “Conduit”. Images from the Palatus expedition reveal that this may be the case. Your mission will be to explore these ruins and uncover the secrets of the “Conduit”. For reasons which I am sure you all can appreciate, this information needed to be kept from you until this moment. You all will be making history, your names remembered in the annals of humanity for many generations to come. Take care, and godspeed Harbinger crew.”
We sat stunned as the uplink ended. We turned to look at Aloys, who was staring out the window at earth growing ever smaller. Then he said, “Alea iacta est.”
