Universal Declaration of Human Rights

· Article 26: Right to an Education: As applied to equal opportunity of participation.

· What is peace? How do we achieve it within ourselves amidst conditions of unrest or in the case of violation of Universal Human Rights?

· How has the need for solidarity amidst the student global community increased throughout the years?

Objectives:

After this lesson, students will be able to:

· Interpret learning as a factor in perpetuating global student peace.

· Identify attitudes and behaviors that are consistent with student peace building and harmonize with Universal Declaration of Human Rights in addition to other global peace agreements.

· Comprehend the impact of just one student standing up for a united classroom.

· Examine, through historical documentation, factors that contribute to current unrest and mistrust amidst communities and cultures.

· Determine what course of counter action needs to be applied for future trust building.

· Develop an understanding of personal empowerment and freedom of choice to see beyond historical barriers to peace building.

· Critical analysis of written text and creative interpretation of purpose.
