What’s it all about?
Flip Wars is a competitive flip-making game created and supported by the Idena community.
A flip is an essential part of Idena, it’s an AI-hard test created to prevent bots from participating in Idena’s unique Proof-Of-Person consensus.
To make a flip truly AI-hard and to avoid the need for a trusted third party, flips must be human-generated. In Idena, flips are created by validated participants. But there is a learning process required to create truly AI-resistant and understandable flips.
To help educate the newcomers about the intricacies involved in creating a good flip, a game called Flip Wars was created. It is a 1v1 game where two participants create a flip using the same keywords. The community votes on a best flip of the two using Idena Oracles, and the winner gets the prize or advances into the next round of the tournament.
Flip making rules: how to create a good flip
First of all, remember: both during the Idena validation ceremony and the Flip Wars round your flip will be judged by humans from all over the world.
- So, think up a good logical story that uses and displays both keywords clearly and you’ll be a Flip Wars champion in no time!
- Find a high-quality images online that represent your story
- Use an image editing software like Photoshop to create original and interesting stories, be creative!
Just don’t forget to avoid these mistakes:
- One or both of the keywords is not clearly visible in the images;
- Numbers or letters indicating the order — not AI-resistant;
- Sequence of enumerated objects — not AI-resistant;
- Text necessary to read to solve the flip — not universal;
- Inappropriate content;
- Several unrelated stories;
- Waking up template — not AI-resistant;
- Thumbs up/down image at the end —not AI-resistant;
- Images of both keywords are inserted into a page/screen/drawing —not AI-resistant.
Flip Wars Prizes
The latest Flip Wars tournament saw eight players fight it out in close matches, full of upsets and close calls. The total prize pool of 1750 iDNA was distributed as such:
- 1st place — 1000 iDNA
- 2nd place — 500 iDNA
- 3rd place — 250 iDNA
Ultimately, Flip Wars rely on the community involvement and support, so if you want to help growing it, consider:
- Participating in the matches;
- Sharing the news and announcements with your network;
- Showing off your ads by sponsoring the ad section;
- Donating to the Flip Wars address.

Do I have to be validated to participate?
No! Just create an Idena account in either Web App or Desktop App and you can create flips for Flip Wars!
2. Register in the tournament
3. Get a keyword pair from the event organizer and create a flip. Don’t forget to shuffle it as well. Get to the Submit Flip tab, make a screenshot and crop out only the flip and its shuffle. Don’t mind the keywords suggested by Idena, we won’t be submitting this flip anyway
4. Send the image of the flip and the shuffle back to the organizer. To get a better image quality, zoom in the client (Ctrl+Scroll Up).
5. See the results and win!
An Idena Oracle will be created to vote on the best flip. The creators of the flips will be hidden to ensure fair voting. Keep in mind that influencing the Oracle vote in any way is strictly forbidden and will result in a participant being forfeited.
