Free Section at AT&T Park

What if I told you that you can watch a Major League Baseball game for free. Some of you might be intrigued right now while others are saying this might be true good to be true. Well, if you are in San Francisco, AT&T Park does have a free standing room area section.
The rules are that you are only allowed to watch 3 innings of the game (first batch: 1st-3rd inning, second batch: 4th-6th inning, third batch: 7th-9th inning). But on this day security didn’t bother with that rule so I was able to watch the whole game. It is a standing room area so you are not able to bring in chairs to sit on. Also, alcohol is not permitted, this is a family-friendly space.
Experience:

Besides being in front of a chain link fence, you get a good view of the game since the section is situated at field level. We were even a couple feet away from the right fielder. This is also a great opportunity to heckle at the player of the opposing team. You can hear everything from the mitts snapping to the cheers of the crowd. When a hitter hits to right field, you have a great view of the action. We had a small glimpse at Lou Seal when he drove pass by us shooting t-shirts into the crowd above us. Denard Span also hit Splash Hit #75 on this day so we were able to see the ball fly over our heads and seconds later, we all went outside to see who caught the baseball.
Many people are there in the section; from the parents with children to the old folks. Sparking a conversation with the folks around you is very easy
Find this section:

It is located at the McCovey Cove pathway. When you are at Willie Mays Plaza (main entrance to ballpark) head towards the direction of the 3rd Street Bridge. Then take a left and walk through the pathway and you will be able to find it at the end of the pathway (third metal detector). It is situated in a part of the ballpark called Triples Alley.
I had a great time watching the game, and at the end the Giants were able to pull in a victory! This is a free way to enjoy this priceless experience.
