I grew up in Toronto and I’ve been disturbed by Canada’s big secret from the beginning. Canada praises itself for multiculturalism but disgustingly treats its indigenous people. It seems like the only people that can be actively discriminated against are Aboriginals since you’re not allowed to talk about anybody else. It’s a great shame and it needs to stop. Your comment about working 3 times as hard to make it to the starting line hits home. It’s what some of us black kids are told from the get go. It’s what you have to do in a system stacked against you to succeed.
