These are great ideas but I suggest starting with the people that are left out of the silicon valley model and asking them what they’d like to see instead of asking them to choose from ideas. You may be surprised by their answers.
Do they know and understand the VC model? Does it meet their needs? Do their entrepreneurial ideas need to pass the same benchmarks or can they create their own (ex. creating a solution for the bottom that you give away for free).
Too often when large and well meaning institutions try to incorporate the outsiders they fail because their logic doesn't work for everyone. I see this frequently in East Africa with well-meaning NGOs that continue to fail in serving the needs of their clients.
Start with the outsiders and listen to them. A little humility goes a long way.
