Do you know the facts about what happened with Brown and Martin, Clay? They were engaged in violent assaults when shot. Poor Mr. Castile was stoned and made a stupid mistake which cost him his life. Those were not “specious” circumstances.

There are events (like the lynchings you referenced) where crimes were committed against black people. That history should not be forgotten. However, those three individuals you listed were not remotely in the same category. Therefore, the “racial tension” which followed those three shootings was truly misguided and extremely misinformed.

Once again I will state that, other than that one questionable sentence, your essay was excellent and thought-provoking on a number of levels. It was much appreciated.
