Iannis Xenakis who is well-known composer and architecture. He was born in a music family. He got his music talents from that. His experience of learning and working laterally influence his concept of music and architecture. His concept is combining mathematics, music into architecture. his most important work is Metastaseis (1953–54) for orchestra, which introduced independent parts for every musician of the orchestra. Also during this period he worked wiz Le Corbusier, which encouraged him to transfer music into architecture. He succeeds to transposing the music rhythm to architecture.

Thus according to his concept, I trying to combine the mathematics and sounds and space. In my work, I chose the central train station as my sounds recording space. I’m thinking how to use the number or any form to show the invisible sounds. Then I think about mapping. So I use the sounds measurement decibel to measure the sounds inside the space in each spot. And after I collected enough data inside the space and recording the sounds during I wall from outside to inside, which this step I tried something different. I’m not just standing in one spot to record the sounds, I trying to show the movement inside the space. Trying to present the sounds become more flexible and interesting. After recording. I listened again, and draw the first draft in a grid form and finally matched all the decibel data into the notation, which make it more specific and readable.

In my notation, I used the grid system specific to show the movement inside the space. And also the number inside the grid show the patterns of movement and how this related to the density of sounds. What’s more , I showed the hierarchy of sounds inside the space. I divided into 3 layers, the first layer while I walked into the entrance, secondly, I’m inside the train station and finally the movement changes inside the space. All the pattern I drew, which present different meaning of sounds. The number obviously shows the exact level of sounds. The triangle shows how the sounds fade in and fade out, the round shape shows the strongest sounds in the background. The small rectangle shows the footstep of people. And in the middle of the straight horizontal line show the immediate silence of the environment.
