After Decades of Meddling in Foreign Elections-America Gets Taste of Their Own Medicine
Vietnam, Brazil, Iran, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo), Cambodia, these are a few of the countries America has intervened in overthrowing DEMOCRATICALLY heads of state and replacing them with brutal dictators. For decades, America has covertly paid people to set up riots, protests, created fake organizations to overthrow a head of state for their personal interest. Decades later, America is getting payback for years of meddling in other countries elections. The election of Mr. Trump the Chump and the people chosen to be in his cabinet is sending the country back into the times of Truman, LBJ, and Nixon. Three presidents who covertly overthrew democratically elected heads of states in third world countries. We the people need to be prepared for what is going to take place with Donald Trump being president.
Side Bar: It is interesting for the greatest country to meddle in other countries elections when the people of these countries ACTUALLY elect their heads of states, not an electoral college. Just Saying.
A recent article in the Washington Post states, “the United States does have a well-documented history of interfering and sometimes interrupting the workings of democracies elsewhere. It has occupied and intervened militarily in a whole swath of countries in the Caribbean and Latin America and fomented coups against democratically elected populists.” From history lessons, the U.S. prevented many countries from being successful democracies where citizens are not scared of their government but the government is scared of the people. It is the fault of the U.S. that many of these countries have become failed states with illegitimate governments that have committed tons of human rights violations and mass murders. Due to America interference with various countries elections and installing brutal dictators, it is the people who have suffered living in dire situations with no economic security.
America’s long history of interfering in other countries elections causing the issues of an illegitimate government and no economic development, the questions which should be raised, are will this happen to America? And, is this a sign of the times with America losing their status in the world? Russia was successful with influencing America-the most powerful country’s elections, this act has the potential to push other world leaders to influence future elections. In the subsequent weeks after Donald Trump won the election, millions of people took to the streets to protest, vociferously denouncing Trump as the new president. American citizens are now getting a taste of their own medicine and having to protest and fight back against tyranny. Because Russia was successful to influence the 2016 elections, it is a sign of the times America is slowly losing their status in the world.
