An understanding of how changes in technology impact on the way humans communicate, and the ethical issues that surround these changes
I have researched about the impact of changes in technology on the way humans communicate. “From the invention of the telegraph and telephone to the advent of the Internet, technology has given people tools to not only keep in touch with each other, but also express their feelings and opinions to a broader audience than would otherwise have been possible.” (Laurel Storm, 2016) One of the positive impact is that the mobile devices allows us to keep in touch with people living far away, for example, those living at the other side of the world can still be kept in touch. Keeping in touch can be done in different ways such as email, text messaging, phone calling and social media. Changes in technology has many positive impacts, but there are few negative impacts, which I believe that only the people, the users of technology can overcome these impacts and problems.

One issues related to changes in technology I have found is the distraction of technology. Mobile devices can become a distraction, where it can distract people’s lifestyle. There are injuries due to the use of mobile devices when driving and when addicted to the use of mobile devices, people may not do the work they have to do at home, work, etc. (Milton Kazmeyer, 2016)
There are ethical issues that surround the changes in technology impacting on the way people communicate. Two ethical issues are the privacy and hacking. The personal details are easily accessible due to the social networking sites. The personal details uploading online such as the emails, phone numbers, etc., can be seen by people including those who you don’t know.

Also, the personal details up online can be fake, meaning the people you meet online can be fake and sometimes people can make fake identity to commit a crime. (Lawstuff, 2015) Also, committing the crime can be done through hacking, people’’ personal details such as phone numbers and back details, can be hacked and used in crimes. Therefore, the development and changes in technology has both positive and negative impacts on the way people communicate, but when using technology, ethical issues such as privacy and hacking needs to be considered.
