Hello Fellow Ealingers

Welcome to my blog. I’ve been up and running for a month or so now, so I thought it was time to tell you what Ealing Be Active is all about.

I’ve always been interested in sport from a very young age — getting picked up late from school every day following an after-school session in whatever sport was available. I couldn’t get enough of it. I particularly enjoyed team sports and played competitive hockey to a high level.

Now I enjoy going to the gym, playing tennis and running, and have completed the London-marathon, various 10ks and beautiful coastal trail runs. It is also very important for me to ensure my kids understand the importance of exercise, adventure and just moving about…and everything that goes with a healthy lifestyle and diet.

Ealing is such an amazing place to live, with beautiful green parkland and lots of opportunities to get out and be active with friends and family. We have a whole host of amazing local providers offering us all sorts of different organised classes where we can be motivated, meet new people and have a bit of fun.

As a busy Mum with limited time, I’ve sometimes struggled to easily find what’s on, where and at what time. I’ve often thought it would be great to have something central that pulls together all of the local offerings available to us.

And that’s when Ealing Be Active was born — a campaign to raise awareness of as many of those amazing options as possible, and promote the local providers along the way. I feel passionate about sharing that information as widely as possible and enabling us to pick something we love for ourselves and/or our kids. Of course, I’ll also touch upon some downtime options as well, as we all need balance in our lives!

Please get in touch to recommend any local classes you enjoy and I will share the love. Similarly, if you are a provider, I would love to spread the word a little bit for you!

Looking forward to getting to know you all better. You can find me @EalingBeActive on Twitter Instagram Facebook OR email me at ealingbeactive@gmail.com

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
