MY ROUTINE IS NOT AS POWERFUL AS I THOUGHT
Over a year ago I decided to follow a structured morning routine and I was blessed with an incredible amount of growth.
Recently, I have added personal coaching to my resume. Connecting with more people and focusing their efforts to raise their game has become my game.
Last week Angela challenged me to look at my day and prioritize everything that’s important because my growing passions were overwhelming her and having a distancing effect on the family.
I blocked off my entire morning for my exercise, my personal study, my kids, their exercise and their personal study.
Yesterday we played kickball, talked about what they want and connected in a way we have never done before.
At the end of the day, I saw Brooklyn (8) was exhausted. The kids gathered for family prayer and went right to bed. No fighting, no arguing and no crying. It was a new FREEDOM I NEVER KNEW WAS POSSIBLE.
It was magical.
A new routine created a new result.
THE LESSON
No matter how great things are, change is inevitable. It is required because as we grow we become different. Holding onto a routine for too long has severe consequences.
APPLICATION
How can I apply this lesson to my finances?
What if I change the way I pay my bills? What if I change the way I pay off my debt? What if I actually get educated on how to better manage money?
This change WILL have a profound effect on how much money I have in my bank account thus allowing me more FREEDOMS THAT I NEVER KNEW WAS POSSIBLE.
QUESTION
What other areas of our lives can we get divorced from our routines and finally discover new freedoms?
TRUTH
A once great routine can become an equally great chain that prevents us from growing.
ADVICE
Take a look at your routines and just ask yourself, “What has being married to this routine created for me lately”?
