ASSESSMENT TASK 3 : MODEL / SCALE

Junya Ishigami is a talented Japanese architect and he is called the invisible architect. Because he is good at creating a blurry relationship between the architecture, the nature environment includes landscape and geography, and the local culture.
His famous artwork includes green house and invisible building. And the main idea is architecture can be a part of the nature, and this is the future architecture. He uses a lot of plants inside and outside of the architecture to create an blurry indoor and outdoor relation.

I used white core foam boards, wood sticks and some tree models to make the model of the UST building in a green space, where can provide students with a place to study and spend leisure time. And from each level they can see different views of the green plants and city.
The model has four floors without fixed boundaries, and it includes the classroom, library with a garden, restaurant and a roof where can see the beautiful sights of Sydney. In additional, I made three transparent stairs to connect each floor and equipment for each specific area, and no walls to isolate between inside and outside area.
Then each level can be seen through from outside and the tall trees grow from the ground to the top level, while in the second level has small plants. As a result, the whole building is integrated with the outside world.
I believe the UTS is a beautiful and advanced university embraces the architecture in the future. And UTS’s buildings and culture can be an important part of Sydney as well.
