Wi-fi vs Ethernet, which is better?

Wi-fi is a wireless connection technology that provides Internet connection to computer systems without the use of cables while Ethernet is a way of connecting computers in a Local Area Network (LAN) particularly with the use of RJ-45 cable.

The cable shown below is an RJ45 cable for connecting computers to the Internet on a Local Area Network.

What are their differences?

From the differences stated above, identifying which is better may depend on preference or what you want to do: If you are deeply engaged in online gaming, heavy downloads, video streaming, etc. Ethernet should be the best pick since on it, you are getting a higher clock speed than on wifi but if you are the type that gets irritated by having cables all over the place, or you want to connect your mobile phone, laptop, and tablet all at the same time without the use of cable then wifi is the best pick for you because in the end, both methods will provide you access to the Internet.
