The phenomenal rare occurrence of discovering world’s largest rough diamond in existence after 111 years since the discovery of the Cullinan happened in November 2015. Lesedi La Rona was discovered at Karowe mine in Orapa region of Botswana by Canadian mining company, Lucara Diamond Corp. The rough is classified as Type IIa a purest form of a diamond without any traces of nitrogen and impurities. Lesedi La Rona is the proof to rarity of diamonds and we are fortunate to have the opportunity to see such historic diamond in our lifetime.
