You are autonomous on the tasks and small projects that you own.

Autonomous

  • You communicate clearly on the status of your projects without prompting from your team lead
  • Once you have fully aligned on the scope and expected outcome of your tasks with peers you can build and ship them independently
  • You start to propose appropriate solutions to your tasks without significant outside input

Own

  • You take ownership and know how to move a project forward at the right pace
  • You frequently ask more experienced engineers for help when needed, to efficiently move your projects forward quickly

Tasks & small projects

  • You consistently contribute to well-defined tasks that deliver high-quality results with the guidance of a more senior engineer
  • You are a strong contributor to well-defined tasks with limited ambiguity

Expertise

You are building and refining core technical skills

Building and refining

  • You are comfortable contributing to product framings for the tasks you work on
  • You are focused on building solid technical skills in order to increase the scope of technical projects you are comfortable owning

Technical skills

  • You are operational with all of Alan’s technologies that are used by their team
  • You can ship code to production without the help of other engineers
  • You are aware of the impacts of your code and know how to test effectively

Leadership

You demonstrate that you learn efficiently.
