Where Angels Fear

I do believe, not so deep down in my heart of hearts (in a manner of speaking), that humanity’s evolution is trending toward peace, compassion, cooperation, and loving-kindness. This is what most of us yearn for, even if we don’t necessarily always know how to go about achieving any of it.

But we can learn, I hope.

Unfortunately, our destructive and self-destructive impulses and behaviors — and narcissism, along with psychopathy, encapsulates them like no other forms of human maladies — get in a way of (realization of) those desires.

We can learn to control and/or dismantle those too, I hope.

We can and must build a better world, I believe. Little by little.

Next week we’ll see how many Americans agree.
