We can say the troll is being rude, but we can take a look at it from the other side: the dog feels entitled to the treat due to the way its culture trains it to expect one, and in a respect, it’s the owner’s fault for creating that expectation. Interesting… So is trolling predicated on power/knowledge? Does a troll need to understand the arbitrariness of convention? Are we saying that philosophers from Socrates to Derrida are proto-trolls?
