Why Electric Skateboards | Electric Longboards are going to crush it in 2016

2015 was the year of the hover-board, or was it the sedgway? I don’t even know what those things were called but everyone wanted one…….until they start blowing up! :O

Despite the blowing up, these things were un-cool and pretty pointless, but one thing they had going for them, they were different.

The truth is electric skateboard technology is so far ahead of these things it’s hard to talk about it in the same sentence and I think perhaps it’s a lot to do with the awareness and prices of the electric skateboard market.

I bought a board from these guys Magneto are retailing for £389.99 plus vat if you live with in the EU. Thats actually less expensive than some of the hover-boards out there.

Lets have a list shall we…Everyone loves a list!

• Electric skateboards are cool… Way cool, lets face it the cool kids will always ride a board, theres just something cool about it.
• Riding an Electric board is addictive. Riding an electric board is addictive because it actually takes a fair amount of skill to do and if you make a mistake the results are not good, this makes riding edgy and fun. All the best things require skill.
• Because riding at 20mph 3 inches from the floor is sick… Duh. Being able to ride at the speed so close to the floor really is a feeling I can’t describe, it does take practice, but once you get good you’ll be gliding along effortlessly.
• Technology, motorised boards have come along way from the first board built in the 70s, actually a petrol fuelled board. In reality it wouldn’t of been possible to build electric skateboards with the capabilities they have now a few years ago. Magneto boards feature a 1200w brushless motor an 8AH lithium battery a canadian maple deck. All this weighing in at under 6KG is pretty sick if you ask me.
• Carving, carving is basically turning with the board at speed, it’s super fun and you can only do it on a board!
• Electric skateboards are an actual practical commuting device, perfect journeys that are too short for a cab ride but too long too walk and of course you can just bring them on the train or put them in your car.
