The sun was shining brightly in the sky and the little boy, who was standing alone at the ice-cream truck, was mesmerized by the sight. He watched as the other kids around him gathered together and laughed and talked, while they waited eagerly for their turn to buy ice-cream. The little boy wished he had a dollar to help himself, but all he had was a few coins, not enough to buy anything.

He felt a surge of sadness mixed with envy, and he bowed his head, trying to hide his tears. He knew that he was different, and no one wanted to be his friend. He felt so alone.

Suddenly, a hand touched his shoulder and he looked up, surprised. He saw a friendly-looking woman smiling down at him. She said, “I know you don’t have enough money to buy ice-cream, but I have an extra dollar. Would you like to have it?”

The little boy couldn’t believe it! He eagerly took the dollar and ran to the truck, feeling excited. He bought a big ice-cream cone and enjoyed every single lick. For the first time in his life, he felt like he belonged. He had a place in the world.

The little boy never forgot the kindness of the woman, and he never felt alone again. He found a group of friends and they all enjoyed the simple pleasure of eating ice cream together.
