If he continues along this line, he will destroy both the iPad and the Mac.
The man has no clue whatsoever what the iPad is. And that is because he does not seem to do anything proffesionally on either device. If he was a proffesional user, he would know the different needs of the various proffesionals and would not mess up everything by trying to prove that the iPad is a laptop.
It is NOT a laptop, nor will it ever become one, as long as there is no real keyboard-mouse connection, like there is on the Microsoft Surface devices.
As for the killer app that would make the iPad have its own place “between the iPhone and the Mac”, there is none, except maybe for GarageBand, which is way better than its Mac counterpart, and the many musical apps that accompany it. The only proffesionals that can really benefit from the iPad, are the musicians. And even in this, Apple has no clue in order to advertise it for this use at least.
In fact, except for the musician, the iPad has nothing that would make it better than a Macbook, or Macbook pro and the macOS as an operating system. iOS will never become the macOS and Apple should look at Microsoft who has made a single operating system that works in any compatible device.
If Apple makes one operating system for everything, then, amybe, the iPad finds its place (as long as they do not destroy GarageBand and the way it works in iOS).
