Is true love worth the wait?

People search their entire lives to find that one person who they can grow old with. Someone who makes all the waiting worthwhile and the memories hard to forget. In fact, the whole idea of falling in love and living happily ever after is based on this notion that true love actually exists, and it is out there waiting to be found. The question is can true love actually be attained and if so is it worth the wait?
We all wait for the day that we will finally find the man or woman of our dreams. The person who makes us a better person, restores our faith in God, brings happiness back into our lives and makes us feel whole again. We as human beings crave love and the emotions and feeling that come with it. The truth is nobody wants to be alone, we are all searching for some form of companionship. The problem is that in today’s society love no longer is viewed as something sacred and important. People abuse love and instead of getting to know a person for who they truly are, they are viewed as objects. Things that can be used for a short amount of time and dumped when they are done and ready to move on to the next. It is no wonder people have lost faith in finding a good, pure, genuine and true love in this world.
We all hear these magical stories about our parents and grandparents and even great grandparents falling in love at such a young age. Their marriages seem to last and you can tell when they look into each others eyes they are still totally and completely in love with each other. We can only dream of finding a love like that, one that never dies. However, for us times have changed and the sad truth is that most of us feel like we will never find that type of love This is a scary thought and a scary feeling because it makes us feel completely and utterly alone in this world. We are left contemplating if we should continue to wait for a love that may never come or lose hope altogether. Yet even after that realization people still hold deep within their hearts a secret hope that true love is still alive and that it is worth the long and sometimes painful wait.
