A Letter To My Readers

Dear Reader,

I started this blog as a girl with a cause. I wanted to prove to the world, and to myself, that I was a writer to take seriously.

It’s rare for a twenty- three year old writer to have the guts to run a blog without editorial or financial support and the talent to pull it off.

I applied to writing internships, publications, and eventually an MFA program, but couldn’t find a way to break in, so I decided to post articles here to build momentum.

If they couldn’t find an opportunity for me, then I was determined to build my own. I wanted a proof of concept, instead I found so much more, a community.

My Circumstances Have Changed

I don’t regret sharing so much of my heart and my life in old blog and social media posts, before I continue, I need you to know that.

I started this blog when I was working as a legal assistant, was fired from that position for reasons related to my blog and reasons not, then worked in the restaurant industry because I felt like my writing wouldn’t interfere with my job.

I’m teaching public school now, moved some of my accounts to private, and stopped publishing new…
