Sanders was elected to congress in 1991 and has worked effectively as a Rep. and Senator for 25 years. He has sponsored a wide range of bills of which these are just he most recent:
- S. 2399: Climate Protection and Justice Act of 2015
- S. 2391: American Clean Energy Investment Act of 2015
- S. 2398: Clean Energy Worker Just Transition Act
- S. 2242: Save Oak Flat Act
- S. 2237: Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act of 2015
- S. 2142: Workplace Democracy Act
- S. 2054: Justice is Not For Sale Act of 2015
The idea the Bernie is not practical is one that keeps coming up over and over and is not based on empirical evidence we can find in his record.
Furthermore, though Bernie does not have the single-minded focus on campaign finance that you would prefer, he is the ONLY candidate that takes the issue seriously. So I am more than a little confused by the nature and content of this criticism. If campaign finance is your primary concern, then there really is only one person to vote for and that’s Bernie. I would argue that it’s you who are being deeply impractical and inflexible by demanding that a candidate line up PRECISELY the way you have behind certain policies AND your strategy for promoting and implementing them.
Let’s not make the perfect the enemy of the good here, eh?
