Update: TRBC’s Falwell, wife headed home from Irma battered Caribbean island

Pastor of TRBC, Jonathan Falwell, and his wife, are safe back in Lynchburg, VA after being stranded on the island of St. Martin last week. The couple were on vacation, celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, when Hurricane Irma hit the island. Samaritan’s Purse airlifted relief supplies to the island and were able to rescue the two and take them safely to Puerto Rico where they were able to fly back to VA.

New condos coming to downtown Lynchburg, some streets impacted by construction

High traffic is expected in Downtown Lynchburg between September 11–19 due to a private construction project for building condos on the Bluffwalk. The construction will affect the commuter and pedestrian traffic and parking. City officials want residents to be informed and make plans accordingly.

Former Lynchburg library director passes away

Lynn Dodge, the former library director of the Lynchburg Public Library, passed away on September 12 due to a brain tumor. Her legacy can be remembered through the story time room she helped build with her donation of $100,000 in 2014. Dodge left an impact on the library system in Lynchburg and will be greatly missed.
