Service Learning Project

For my service learning project I wanted to do something that would benefit my community around me. I collaborated with two other students to organize a food drive. We collected boxes and worked tirelessly to distribute them throughout the schools. We didn’t only focus on the High School, but the intermediate and elementary school as well. By talking to teachers and classes we hope to not only collect food to donate to Angel Baskets, but to also raise awareness for the people living in poverty nears us.

Even after finishing all of the main work for the food drive, Sydney and I felt inclined to spend a day baking and sell the goods at school on Monday. We are going to donate the money to the same organization, and even though it wasn’t much we made, we tried to educate people about what we were working towards.
