It is extremely long-lived and specimens of more than 1000 years old, are known. The potential of this powerful ingredient has only recently started its impact in cosmetics and beauty care.
ORGANIC BAOBAB OIL
Baobab seed oil is semi-fluid, golden yellow and gently scented. It is strongly non-siccative and has a long shelf-life. It contains almost equal measures of palmitic acid, oleic acid and linoleic acid.
Baobab oil is made from baobab seeds. The seeds are found in large capsule-like fruit which grow on the tree. The fruit mature during the dry season and drop off the trees when ready to harvest. Fruit are collected and transported to the processing facility. Here the fruit are cracked open and the inside powder and seed is removed.
The seeds are extracted from baobab fruit by cracking the hard outer capsule. The extracted seeds are then washed to remove a powder coating and then air dried in the hot sun. Baobab oil is made by a cold pressing process. The newly pressed oil is immediately filtered to help clarify the oil which is then bottled.

ORGANIC BAOBAB SEED EXTRACT
Baobab fruits are ovoid in shape and are formed from elaborate white flowers which are pollinated by bats. The fruit has a hard, woody shell with a velvety yellow-green coating. Inside the shell are the large oil-rich seeds, the fruit powder and fibers.
At the processing facility, the fruit are cracked open and the inside powder and seed is removed. The powder is then sieved twice — first to separate the seeds and second to remove fibres. The fine creamy-coloured powder is then packed without undergoing any further refinement or processing and has no additives.
Baobab powder is a super powder and it is rich in vitamin C, calcium and magnesium. Baobab powder is an antioxidant and has prebiotic properties. It is a natural source of minerals and organic acids.
