Pokémon GO trainers worldwide will finally get to encounter Johto Pokémon later this week. In fact, there will be 80 of them from the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver titles to find and capture. Not only that, expect new features to enhance the experience.

Additional Pokémon and Evolutions

Totodile

Of course, trainers should aim to catch the Johto starters: Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile! Gender-specific variations will also become available for certain Pokémon.

Also, look forward to more ways of evolving your Pokémon, specifically with ones encountered in the Kanto region originally. Evolution items at PokéStops will become necessary to evolve your Pokémon.

Modified Encounter Gameplay

Wild Pokémon may start behaving a bit differently when trying to catch them. Also, trainers now have brand-new item carousels to pick Berries and Poké Balls right at the encounter screen. Bring your “A game” and catch ’em all!

Berry Welcoming

Crobat

Nanab Berries and Pinap Berries are two new berries you can get ahold of at the Photo Disc when visiting PokéStops. A Nanab Berry slows a Pokémon down, which makes catching them much easier. On the other hand, a Pinap Berry doubles the amount of Candy when a catch attempt is successful.

Looking Cool

Upgrade the look of your avatar with new hats, shirts, pants and other accessories!
