Upset? Mad? Get Excited!

I want to share a really important nugget of wisdom with you today.

Triggers are your teacher.

Have you ever been scrolling through your social media feeds and suddenly you feel the twinge of negative emotion inside of you?

Then your mind starts to chatter about it. “I want what they have. I am not good enough. Who does she think she is. I wish I could do that. I suck. Life sucks. He is an idiot.”

Instead of taking the train to crazy town, I invite you to take a different approach. Ask yourself:

Why is this triggering me? What is this reflecting in me? What is the message from my soul?

You see, we only get negatively triggered by people or circumstances when they happen to touch on an unhealed emotional wound or a limiting story/belief from our past.

Otherwise things would not bother us. Have you noticed a bunch of other things in your social media feed DON’T trigger you in the slightest? Because they don’t happen to touch on your wounds and limiting stories.

Now when I get upset, I get excited! Because my pain is my pathway to freedom. My pain points me to the parts inside of me that are not yet healed, whole, loving and loved.

If my body feels envy, it is usually because someone is living one of my dreams and a part of me believes I can’t have that. Awesome! Now I know, I can work out why I don’t believe this is possible for me and shift that belief.

If my body feels judgmental, it is usually because someone is acting in a way that breaches one of my “rules” about how people are “supposed” to behave. Awesome! Now I know, I can question my unconscious rules about life and let them go for the sake of my inner peace.

If my body feels unworthy or not enough, it is usually because I have not been self-loving lately and I have totally forgotten I am an amazing unlimited spiritual being, not just some small limited human. Awesome! Now I know, I can refocus on the Truth-with-a-capital-T of who I am.

So next time you scroll social media (perhaps right now!) notice what triggers you and choose to inquire within.

This applies not only to social media but ANY area of your life. Notice what upsets you. And dig within yourself to find out WHY. Go within or go without!

Once again: Your pain is your pathway to freedom.
