Email Marketing: So You’ll Never Be Forgotten!
Have you ever seen a product or service, and thought, “That would be perfect for me!”
But then you got busy and you forgot all about that product, until you saw it again somewhere, either in a commercial or on a shelf at the store?
Have you ever forgotten about a product you wanted to purchase, then never did because by the time you were reminded of it, your need for it had passed? Maybe you’d gone ahead and bought a competitors product because they were right there in front of your face.
This is why email marketing is so important!
When you email your prospects on a regular basis, they can’t forget about you.
So even if they don’t have a need for your product now, or maybe you don’t even have a product yet — by arriving in their inbox every day or week, you are training their brain to remember your name and brand identity.
Then when the time comes that your product is ready, or when your prospect’s need for your product suddenly changes — they will want to buy from you:
- Because they know You
- Because they trust You
- Because You’re right there in front of their face
- Because You’re convenient
- Because any objections they might have had, have already been answered
- Because they can’t forget You!
So if you’re in business and you aren’t doing email marketing — what are you waiting for?
If you’re in business and You Are using email marketing — are you using it in the most effective way?
For instance:
- Are You selling in every email?
- Are You telling stories or just flat-out pitching?
- Are You teaching prospects how to use Your product?
- Are You showing prospects how Your Product could improve their lives?
- Are You offering value or just wasting Your prospect’s time?
- Are You interesting & entertaining or are Your emails a chore to read?
- Do prospects look forward to receiving Your emails?
- Are You surviving Inbox Zero?
Email marketing only works properly when prospects actually read your emails and don’t delete you or worse report you as spam.
According to convinceandconvert.com, 21% of recipients report email as spam even when they know it isn’t.
Why would they do this?
- Because the emails they’re getting don’t interest them.
- The subject lines are not arresting their attention.
- Their greed glands aren’t being activated
- They feel like the sender doesn’t care about them and only wants to sell stuff
- They didn’t get anything of value, last time they opened an email, and they value their time more than Yours
- It’s been so long since You sent an email they’d forgotten all about You
Email marketing doesn’t work if you only email when you’re having a promotion or to announce a new product or service.
Your emails must be sent regularly, like clock-work, even when you have nothing new to offer them.
A copywriter could look at your product and come up with hundreds of different ways to sell it, if your product is good enough, of course.
You should never pitch a product only once — you need to keep bringing it up again and again. Not necessarily in every single email, but on a regular basis.
You can get away with this if along with any offer, you are providing genuine value, free of charge. Prospects need a reason to open and read your emails that has nothing to do with buying from you.
Which is why, you can easily email every day and have prospects adore you, sales pitch or no, because of the fascinating, fun, and factual goodies you litter each email with, from top to bottom.
Before we close, why should you be emailing your customers?
- To make them like you!
- To make them trust you!
- To make them remember you!
Warmly,
Angie, the Email Ninja
