These last 9 years we’ve quite successfully built our business around applying behavioral theories from Myers-Briggs, B.J. Fogg, Cialdini and Kahnemann as well as architectural principles such as the Gestallt Principles you mention to our UX Design method, and we’ve learned for a fact that they have a huge impact. So in my opinion any decent UX designer should have knowledge of, or at least an interest in these kind of studies.
